Hello! I’m Julana.

I travel the world seeking out opportunities for educational wildlife encounters.

My lifelong love for animals began early.

I knew I wanted to be a zoologist at age 4. After a family trip to the zoo, I was fascinated with all creatures and decided that I wanted to have a life centered around animals. I turned to wildlife documentaries on mainstream media for inspiration, only to find that, as a girl of Filipino-American heritage, there was a lack of relatable women role models in the field.

I pursued a Biology degree at Florida State University and landed a job as an animal trainer in Orlando, FL, where I worked with everything from monkeys to camels, lynxes, birds of prey, dogs, cats, skunks, snakes, parrots, lemurs, and everything in between.

I found myself seeking out opportunities to learn about local wildlife and the impact that tourism has on species. I’ll travel anywhere for a good animal encounter and there’s nothing I love more than sharing what I learn about wildlife, conservation, and ethical animal tourism with others.

Today I’m on a mission to help create connections between people and animals through creating educational content, entertaining wildlife encounters, and getting up close and personal with those who protect them. Together we can increase the understanding, respect, and love for wildlife around the world.

When we care for wildlife, we care for our planet, and we make
the world a better place for us all.
